I was asked to paint a XVI century
map of Southwark on a 3mx1m wooden board, for the Clink Prison Museum (http://www.clink.co.uk/)
I love a good old map, they hide such visual treats.
Thick lines, no perspective, symbolic imagery, fish which are bigger than man
who are bigger than houses.
Give me a copy of an original map, a couple of XL
boards, a lot of paint and pens, and you can throw me in the clink any day!
