Diesel Island - Amazing Cardboard Forest

http://vimeo.com/22305167

This is a video made by the lovely Ana Cossermeli (http://miscelana.net/whilst we were working on a pretty impressive cardboard forest with Åsa Wikman, Anna Baskakova, Atika Bennamane, Becki Hiscocks.
The project was made for the Diesel Island campaign and it was up on some of their central London shop windows.

You Are Here

I was asked to paint a XVI century map of Southwark on a 3mx1m wooden board, for the Clink Prison Museum (http://www.clink.co.uk/)
I love a good old map, they hide such visual treats. Thick lines, no perspective, symbolic imagery, fish which are bigger than man who are bigger than houses.
Give me a copy of an original map, a couple of XL boards, a lot of paint and pens, and you can throw me in the clink any day!

The She-Owl

These were based on The She-Owl, a short story by Robert Walser.

Thank you to Mr. Walser, for doing what you did so well.
